A number of hotels offer recreation facilities such as swimming pools, saunas, indoor driving ranges, bowling alleys and health clubs for their guests. There are karaoke bars, casinos and recreation rooms, providing entertainment. In addition, exciting and fun-filled special seasonal events and packages are available throughout the year.

There are so many places to dine out! Be it a fine dining experience or the simple Korea food, there are restaurants to cater to suit your budget. South Korea has developed their own food culture to suit their history and climate. The four distinct seasons influences the food culture of the nation. Korean food is varied and nutritious.

Korea has many night-time activities and attracts people interested in a night life scene. Many of the areas also have a thriving scene during daylight hours for shopping or other activities, but the night life scene is really very different. Most restaurants and bars are required to down shutters at midnight.

South Korea has a continental climate with dry cold winters and hot humid summers. There is a swift transition from winter to summer conditions between April to early May with an equal reversal in late October. Due to the Asian monsoons, the cold winter winds come from Manchuria and Siberia while in summer the warm moist air comes from the Pacific Ocean winds. The wettest months are between June and September with at least one typhoon per year. Average annual precipitation varies from 1,016 mm (40 inches) to 1,524 mm (60 inches) depending on each region. Average temperature ranges in Seoul are from -9 to 0 degrees Celsius (16 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit) in January to 22 to 31 degrees Celsius (72 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit) in August.

South Korea has a reputation of being a shoppers’ paradise, and numerous shops provide special duty free prices for foreigners. Fashion, antiques, medicine, herbs and spices, electronics and wedding clothes feature highly on Korea’s shopping itinerary. The best shopping districts and markets are in the capital, Seoul, and include: Namdaemun (Korea’s largest general wholesale market); Tongdaemun (one of Seoul’s oldest markets, good for bargains)
