Korea Destinations
Incheon is a metropolitan city and a major seaport located on the west coast of
South Korea, near Seoul. Since Incheon is situated close to the capital, it is
sometimes regarded as part of the greater Seoul metropolitan area and the Seoul
Metropolitan Subway is also linked to the Incheon Subway system.Incheon attracts
foreign investments and is also under the control of one of the two Free Economic
Zone Authorities in Korea.The city is home to K-League soccer side Incheon United,
and was one of the venues for the 2002 Football World Cup.Inha University is also
located in the city. Incheon International Airport, the main international airport
for both South Korea and Seoul, is situated within Incheon's city limits.

Gwangju
The sixth largest city of South Korea is Gwangju. It is situated on the south-
western tip of the Korean Peninsula with a population of 1.36 million
inhabitants. Large scale urban development projects such as the
construction of the Gwangju hi-tech industrial complex, transformation of
Gwangju into a center of production, and improvement of housing and leisure
facilities has boosted Gwangju’s status as the hub of Korea's southwest
region.
The city has a rich culture and heritage. The Southern School of Chinese
Painting, or Namjonghwa, as well as pansori, a traditional Korean singing
genre, originated here. The Gwangju Biennale, an international arts
festival first held in 1995 and taking place every two years, has
expanded Gwangju's worldwide reputation as a city of art.

Busan
Busan is also known as Pusan, the largest harbour city in South Korea.
It has a population of about 3.65 million. Busan is also the second
largest metropolis, after Seoul. It is a big industrial port. Although
Busan is not an attractive city, there are plenty of beaches nearby.
Busan was the host city of the 2002 Asian Games and APEC 2005. It was
also one of the host cities for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. The city
officially announced its bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympics Games.

Seoul
Seoul is the capital and largest city of South Korea (Republic of Korea).
The city's name derives from the ancient Korean word Seorabeol or
Seobeol, meaning "capital city". Seoul is located in the
northwest of South Korea on the Han River, only about 30 miles from the
de-militarized zone (DMZ) border shared with North Korea.
It is one of the most populous cities in the world with a population of over
ten million residing within city limits and the smallest and most densely
populated cities with an area of only 607 sq kms. Due to being densely populated
it has become one of the world's most digitally-connected cities. There are
widespread traffic jams in Seoul as there are more than three million
registered vehicles.
The city is the country's political, cultural, social, and economic center,
as well as an international center for many financial and business organizations,
and is considered one of the top 20 "world-class cities".

Taegu
Daegu or Taegu is South Korea’s third largest city on the Sincheon
and Geum rivers. The city still retains a countryside feel. The views of
Palgong-san to the north and Ap-san to the south are hidden by smog less
often than the mountains encircling Seoul. Taegu has important textile and
machine industries, vast amounts of cloth and clothing is manufactured here.
It is a transportation hub, a major industrial center, and a primary collection
and distribution point for an extensive agricultural and mining region.
The Nakdong River basin supplies raw materials for industry. During the
Korean War the city formed a major bastion in the United Nations perimeter
defense of the Busan beachhead, and in Aug., 1950, it became the temporary
capital of Korea. Its name is also romanized as Taeku and Taikyu.

Taejeon
Taejeon also known as Daejeon is located in the centre of South Korea and
is the capital of South Chungcheong Province and is the fifth largest city
of South Korea.The Daejeon area was historically known as Hanbat,
a native Korean term for "large field."
There are about a million and a half residents in Taejeon. Numerous software
companies are located here. Scientific research is also important in the
local economy.
