Visa Rules in Taiwan
The following visa rules apply for holders of the "Republic of China" and the "Republic of China Taiwan" ordinary passports.
In case of a Schengen transit visa (valid for all Schengen states) only transit through
Switzerland is possible (no stay).
In case of a Schengen visa with single entry free entry and stay allowed only if Schengen
visa has not been used yet. It is therefore highly recommended to obtain a multiple entry
Schengen visa.

Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden).

For Student visa
A student who plans to studying or learning in Switzerland is required to apply a student visa before leaving to Switzerland.
For studying up to three months, the student is required to submit the same documents as requested for a tourism visa. In addition, plus a confirmation letter from the Swiss school is needed.
For studying over three months, the student (over 18 years old) is requested to come for an interview at the Trade Office of Swiss Industries and submit the following documents:

4 copies of acceptance/confirmation letter from the Swiss school

3 copies of the school enrolment receipt

3 copies of the bank statement

3 copies of the highest graduation certificate

3 copies of English guarantee statement

3 copies of TOEFL or IELTS or TOEIC score etc…, if possible
Please note that in some cases the Swiss Alien Police may require additional document, the applicant who is over the age of 25, please submit some more special documents as
follows:

3 copies of study motivation
Visa proceeding time: 1 - 2 months or more, after interview/submission of the complete document
Visa fee : NT$1,430.-

Residence in Switzerland without employment or gainful activity (retirement)
The following basic conditions must be fulfilled:
The applicant must be at least 60 years old and retired from all employment and gainful activity.
The applicant must have close ties with Switzerland (e.g. relatives). Additional requirements may be requested by specific Cantons where residence is sought
Procedure
If resident in Taiwan, you are required to submit:

Three duly completed and signed application forms per applicant. The desired place of residence and Canton must be stated.

Two recent passport-sized photos.

A copy of your passport.
-
An extract from his/her curriculum vitae/résumé indicating previous places of residence, employment and gainful activities, date of retirement, family members and their places of residence.

A statement confirming that the applicant is not or will not perform any gainful activity either in Switzerland or abroad.
-
A statement containing exact details of his/her income and assets, with official proof and/or bank statements.

A written confirmation that he/she intends to live permanently in Switzerland and not maintain any other domicile abroad. Documents must be in one of the official Swiss languages (German, French or Italian).
